When an award-winning designer is getting married, you can expect a treat to the ultimate in style.

Highly sought after luxury invitation designer and founder of Ceci New York tied the knot with her sweetheart, Alan Johnson in a romantic Puerto Rico ceremony in 2009. The beautiful couple originally wanted to get married in Spain, but because their parents didn’t have passports to hand, they opted for an intimate destination wedding in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico. “Old San Juan has the old world characteristics and charm of Spain that I loved. And the venue, Hotel El Convento’s architecture was inspired by Spain so it ended up boasting all the details I was looking for” said Ceci in an interview with Style Me Pretty. The couple hosted 60 of their closest friends and family at a five o’clock ceremony, followed by cocktails in the courtyard of El Convento where guests were serenaded with Spanish guitar music.

Details We Love: The gorgeous wedding invitations (designer by Ceci New York) – Ceci painted a mural dedicated to their new lives together. “It was full of hidden symbolism that represented us and anchored by a peacock and our wedding crest. All representing the warmth and elegance that our guest’s we’re going to experience at our wedding” she said at a recent interview with CSW ● Ceci’s Oscar de la Renta gown ● Rolled up wedding programs, tied with burgundy ribbon to an ornate wooden fan to keep the guests cool ● Super romantic centerpieces of different sizes – the candelabras and pillar candles that added a glow in the room, plus the red orchids and black magic roses that played a big part in the table centers ● The place settings – unique  round menus which they paired with red orchids and peacock feathers ● Table signs displayed on black lace Spanish fans and named after three of their favorite beaches in Puerto Rico ● The stunning wedding cake designed especially for the couple by April Reed from April Reed Cake Design, and flown in to Old San Juan…The list is endless. Forgive us for being indecisive, but we love every detail of their gorgeous wedding!
